Nemesis Oltre/ Nemesis Beyond

In the last two weeks of May 2015, Nemesis Oltre/ Nemesis Beyond touched the topography of Napoli, forming a region where female creativity found unpredictable routes.

Between the 17th and 31st May, a group of artists and thinkers from the UK and Italy intervened in a series of workshops, exhibitions and performances inspired by the practice of the feminist collective Le Nemesiache, whose almost forgotten artistic and political actions shaped the landscape of Napoli in the 70s and 80s.Their practice has been recently reconsidered in Napoli in the Unampped Practice of Le Nemesiache: A Feminist Gazetteer, a research project by the writer Giulia Damiani; in the last two years this intriguing work has been presented at Goldsmiths University of London and Art Council-funded symposiums in London.
